LAPALOMER.
JACK MOORE OF LONDON was a trading partner and
friend to Chief Eferebo Reuben Standfast Jack.
It was the name JACK MOORE of London that was used
to rename our Iju Polo to Jack’s Compound.
And it was in one of the visits of the same Jack
Moore of London that a male child was born 1915 by Mrs INE MBORO (NEE ORUKWOJI) OMIEYE REUBEN JACK in the family of chief Eferebo R.S.Jack in
the presence of Jack Moore of London.
And so Jack Moore initiated his name to the new-born child as “SELFMOORE
JACK.’’
Selfmoore Jack joined the colonial army Nigerian
regiment and became staff sergeant, signal unit. And in 1952 during H.R.M. Queen Elizabeth’s
visit to Nigeria, in a Guard of Honor Inspection, Selfmoore Jack was honored
with a gift of REMEMBRANCE MEDLION .by HRM.
